hey everyone, been looking at this site for a while and finally brought a ford so i guess its only right to join.

well just brought an "02" xr6t 5speed and was wondering what performance mods everyone is doing and recommending for a 1/4mile time of around low to mid 13's.

i dont want to go over the top with mods because my sister will be learning how to drive a manual in it wile shes on her "L's"

already lowered it, got mk11 mags, no spoiler and de-badged. stainless steal cat and and exhaust will be done mid week. thoughts people.

first minor upgrade would be the exhaust and also get a typhoon intake and k&N filter.

Next step would be a bigger intercooler, and a capa flash box with a custom tune.

That should give you a decent increase in power but I suggest loading up the stock program from your cappa box whenever your sister wants to drive it.

All this will cost you around $3,000 and will easily see you into the low 13's.

edited: just read you've already got the exhaust there so your on your way already.

- K&N or BMC filter and a 2nd cai (Typhoon one is good)

- 3.5" high flow cat (stock exhaust is good for 350rwkw, unless u want to change it for a different sound)

- capa flash tuner (dont go to far past 250rwkw or u may have gearbox breaking issues as u have the T5)

- intercooler (wog coolers would be best bang for your buck)

- stronger clutch

people will tell u "the T5 can handle more than 250rwkw, my mate had 300rwkw blah blah blah" it mite have that much, but it could give up the ghost at any second.

u may want to add a set of injectors to but for the 240-250rwkw u should be safe on the stockers..

250rwkw is a very realistic figure that u should get no probs.

Should nail a 12 if you drive it right.

yeah 250rwkw is conservative if anything. 12 second car easily.

you will be limited by the t5 gearbox, i wouldn`t reccomend over 250rwkw.

some people have more with the 5 speed but most end up with problems.

ouch, what would be involved in modifying the t5 to handle 300rwkw+?

I'm surprised no has mentioned bigger wheels.
I find the 17's struggle to contain stock power.
Surely you would be struggling to get the power down cleanly with the 17's + mods?

Decent tyres go a long way on the street rather then the oem ones, and for dragging (especially with a histall) a set of slicks is definately required if you want to get the best times.
