Yeah I saw it, wasn't it 10.5 seconds though? Has a stock EF engine with a cam, I wonder what it could do before it breaks.

Yep, but thats life hey.

This is my way of thinking... 5 years ago I paid 7 grand for an engin rebuild (4g63) to suit 25psi, it lasted one year of circuit use, I gave it 25psi for only ever 30mins at a time on the track and it was tuned by the builder on his dyno, with the same Wolf I use on the ED.
When it died from a broken rod, I was told... "thats motorsports for you mate, ka ching ka ching!"

Now, Im not to keen on spending that on a road cars motor, so I wont, but Im also not going to bother going to all the hassles of turboing a non turbo car and getting it engineered and then just putting around on 10psi so the old stock motor doesnt die.
So, replace a motor a year, at a grand a pop... thats equates to 7 years motoring... an there's no way I'll have this car in a few years time anyway.

But thats just my point of view, if your not keen on swapping motors, then keep it safe. But think of all the s**t you will have to go through just to get a legal 200wkw turbo falcon... there's other cars that can get you there with heaps less hassle and without requiring an engineers report

its an EF/EL stocker.
claimed to have a reground cam and some non standard headgasket mods (last i heard was 2 AU gaskets with some nonstandard torque specifications) but that could of changed.
C series transmission and 2.92 diff with 28 split axles.

its also running n2o

That motor in his car was run heaps on N20 on the old E/C drag strip. Then a T04, when turbo blew up at Croyden Motorsport Dyno day he fitted a GT3540 and some 36 Lb Ford Motorsport injectors, run it as daily driver for three more years with the odd trip to drags, winning Aussie section of Drag Compact. Mid 11's.That car is now a trailor car.But still has same engine..RPM limiter is set reasonably low as turbo's don't need rpm to make power. They require load...
Boost doesn't kill an engine to a point..It's incorrect tune and abuse!!!
He has the same attitude that if she blows its $600 for another wrecker engine...Personally I'd like to see it freshened up with new rings / bearings, ARP bolts etc...
But why ?? It's still going strong....

Yep, dont under estimate the old i6. very strong for a stocker.
I know its hard to imagine a stock NA motor being able to hang together under decent boost, but as long as its not a clapped out motor, you'll get some decent mileage. Just dont skimp on managment and tuning
