Cheers Brett Ive got the same size on an 8 inch rim. They bulge out a little but seem okay.

with slicks your "allowed" 1 inch either way so if you have an 8 inch wide rim (for argument sake) you can use a 7 inch wide tyre that will have less traction off the line but more stable at higher speeds on the other hand you can use a 9 inch wide tyre that will give better traction off the line but can be "skatey" at higher speeds also with slicks im 99% sure that the width is taken from the tread that actually touches the ground at recommended pressure so make sure that you have enough room inside the guards.... now as i said i am nearly 99% sure but not entirely so if i am wrong i apologise (by the way the shop could just be saying it to cover their hides if something went wrong with a larger/smaller tyre)

umm all the tyre talk there is kinda not the case with a radial tyre. which is what he was running,
You may find all that applies to a 'rag' tyre with a soft sidewall. That is why these m/t radials are so good, has almost the grip of a street ET with the strength of a radial

What are the BFgoodrich drag radials like? Ive read you can use them as everyday street tires on the back, if so Id like a pair

I have heard they are very inconsistant.
Think of it like this ultra high grip has to be a soft tyre, so short life. They are the true facts.

Yeah makes sense... any sugestions for a very good gripping road tyre? Im running Yokohamas A509 but they just spin on boost

My SP3000's in 16inch were very good. I got my 1.8 60ft with these, but havent come near that since i went to 17's. How does 2.1 best so far sound. What i will be doing is getting the drag T/A's and fitting them to my Spare rim and another rim. Should solve the traction problems for now.

Yeah change for the track looks the way to go... but it would be good to find some "freakish gripping" tyre we could use for the street
