Your sounding like you should own a full sik V6 vn s**t thats "really quick with little mods" lol im sure you could get about 150 engine kw out of those!

Well I do have a VL in my garage which belongs to my brother but we are prepared to piss it off and get something that would require a lot less work to fit a ford I6 into.

Considering his car is at the limit with dead stock parts besides a front mount cooler (estimated 150 rwkW) and we are not in the mood to chuck copious amounts of money at it to get it how hard we feel a turbo car should be running in this day and age the switch to ford power is a very wise choice. Especially when my cab gets decomissioned.

Basic LPG system factory fitted - check (will need twin lines fitted and a GRA system for what we want but that's no biggie)

4L motor - check (will be copping a major rebuild which will still work out cheaper than if the equivalent parts were fitted to an RB30)

relatively lightweight body - check (rubber floor vinyl seats and minimal electrics, already in the low 1500kg range and will be even lighter once all the unnecessary items get tossed)

Another mark against the RB30 is that its one of the heavier I6's getting around.

Thats awesome.... a whole 3 kw more than a stock Ef/El !!

and about 300-400kg lighter. :) My cousin has a R31. The motor has a 40thou overbore, forged pistons, bigger cam, and ported head. not quite sure how much power his motor has, but even when it was auto, it still whipped my EF :P the 5spd box that was recently installed has made it even more fun to drive. can't go past the old nissans, they are good vehicles.

No I will say what I like, I made a valid point that the 4.0L is a BETTER motor. Its not the RB30 that makes it quick its the light weight peice of s**t car its in that makes it quick.

Hell i'll go drop my heavily worked 4L into a VH commodore with a 5 speed....yeah its a s**t car but its light! be good for LOW 13s get the picture?

I have seen come supper quick 2J motors in lightweight drag cars..
Imo if a well sorted 4.0 had the same treatment ? It should run in 7 second area... Would have to be sorted auto etc..

lol dude you're bringing up a post from nov 2007.
we're all gotten over it since.

everyone has gotta remember that the rb30 is a 3litre. falcon uses a 4litre. it really isnt a fair comparison.

and the rb30 is just a sohc just like a falcon 4.0.
