Just wondering if anyone can answer why a 3.8 litre supercharged holden V6 with strags/exhaust and a cold are intake together with a 10psi upgrade pulley can only pull 147rwkw?

There are a ton of naturally aspirated i6's with a heap more power than that...

whats the deal?

got those details from here:

a mate had a vt calais supercharged.. he took it off and he said all that changed was the noice.. there was only a little power drop...
The stock supercharger is s**t!
Its only there for the sound, a little bit of power boost..

apparently stock it is only putting out 4psi.. they detuned it..

but the eaton M90 is not a crap supercharger. I think from memory holden didn't want it to steal sales from the V8 so they didn't push it much.

I'm just amazed they could do it that badly

that, and its a weak as piss motor and didn't want to stress it so it would start making noise during the waranted period.

I know the bottom ends let go with continual increased boost.

this is quoted from the listing lol

(This mod is an excellent cost effective way to bump up the horsepower from your late model Commodore as shown on the dyno graph below. In this case we have a VT Commodore with extractors/exhaust/cold air intake and our 10psi boost upgrade kit, making an outstanding 146.8 kw at the rear wheels.)

now that makes my 175rwkw look really outstanding...

Bag the Super6 all you want, there are plenty of Super6's running pretty quick... and keep in mind its legal.

How many of your Boosted Falcon's are legal?

http://v6supercharged.com.au/quarter_mile.asp

Dyno Power Results: 225 rwhp (168 rwkw)
Best Official Times Recorded: 13.96 sec @ 97mph
Modifications:

* 10 PSI Universal Power-up Pulley Kit
* 1.9:1 High Ratio Roller Rocker Arms
* Extractors
* Type S - Cold Air Intake Kit
* 3" Mandrel Bent Cat Back Exhaust

it takes one hell of a 'Legal' Falcon to get a time like that ;)
