where can I get proffesionally made top quality steam pipe 4 into 1 collectors? and how much? I can make the mafority of the manifold quite easily but making 4 into 1 collectors isn't something I would like to attempt!
I could make them myself but at the end of the day probably going to work out better if i get someone to do the collectors. Anyone who has done a steam pipe manifold tell me how you got on with it and how you built the collectors. Thinking of using the 2.9mm thick pipe. |

Liverpool exhaust. They would be happy to finish it off for you if you took in what you've already made... not expensive either

havent made anything yet, I got my flange plates from them very good prices, I want to start with the collectors it should be much easier that way and flow better if the collectors are cut in a jig, I have seen the difference a well made collector can make to power output and i see know sense in trying to make it myself if someone else could do a better job, just don't know who to go to, I will ring around tommorow.

Doing it yourself with turbo $1800, W/gate $800, head flange's $100, turbo flange $20,$150 cast steam pipe,$100 straight pipe...Just inder $3k...It pays to do it yourself Ha???
Add in my case $1500 for mig welder and $6700 for ac/dc tig welder... And heaps of angle grinder's and cutting discs....

Start with a decent welder, makes all the difference
My father bought a WIA 215 mig welder with satelite sometime last year, and while its a little messy with gasless wire (spits a bit) its a great welder. Will burn in nicely, yet weld fairly thin stuff too. Was on it for a few hours today and apart from the odd burn, not a single complaint! Not sure whether youd want to spend 2500 on a welder if you only want to start off but
