The turbo crowd seem to be a lot more up tight than the blue bottle brigade when it comes to advice. Its not as if GHD hair dryers are better than any other brand, geez.

Ebxr8380, u blind? U can't see the gains the plenum ( or the plenum
pics?) has over the STD for manifold??? Tell me which company or workshop shows a fkn dyno graph of the product?
As Gilly said we never showed the prototype of the plenum as it was being
tested for months an months..

gilly u sure it has a TH400 in it?

Maddog, 25k on what? Just a long motor? Or with turbo manifold, plenum
an s**t?

Tell me which post or question of mine I've asked bout building an
engine?or what setup I should use???

If u think ur s**t so good an u know ur s**t then why ask why type of
tailshaft I use??or any of my engine components an stuff???

Ps. I still run a hydraulic cam!

I believe that Maddog has built his own manifolds.

Many many people post up dyno graphs of their products versus rival products. its been happening for years but not too many people have been doing it for plenums for some reason or another.

As for the cam, even though its a hydraulic profile, have you had the solid lifter conversion done or are you using some trick anti pup up lifters?

All I want to know is what's done to your bottom end to make it hang together? I've already been advised by several people that for this level of power I need a steel crank, H beam rods, forged pistons, external multi stage oil pump, a thicker girdle, steel main caps and maybe a wee bit of grout.
Everything else is as per program for a turbocharged engine.

The point is whilst I may have alot of knowledge I don't know it all. I know stuff all about whats the best suspension setup so I come on here and and see what the other guys have done. If I need to know something, I come online and do a bit of research, ask a few questions to people who have been there, done that and usually I can get very valuable info.

Now if I see someone in need and I have the answer to some more complex matters (I know a thing or two about turbo setups, engines, fuel injection, tuning) where I think my input will be of use, I contribute. This is my way of returning something.

And even as an old bloke I have learnt heaps of stuff from very young guys who have been there, done that or just have info of use.

But to be secretive serves no purpose unless its your bread and butter. Who cares whos faster or slower. Lets just work together so that we can PO the Holden boys.

Regarding Driveshafts : yes there are issues with critical speeds with a single piece in the E series. But there are a few running over the limits in their drag car. Yes I would like to know the specification like diameter/wall thickness, unis and whether its chrome moly. But if you dont want to answer it then I thats fine. I will just contact others to see what they are running. I would probably see what a number of people are running in hi powered e series before I make a decision on one piece or two piece.

25K would include turbo/manifold/computer/fuel system. I do all my own work so I have factored a $ value into the 25k for labour to compare apples with apples.

Full credit to 4LTR-JET I don't mean to discredit the car at all ...
Just interested in specs etc... Keep in mind the tyre size...
Makes 245X15 small...Still has traction issues!!!
Ahh the strong mid range power of a good turbo set up !!!

maddog, this is just for u mate ;)

Just last week on Friday @Calder I run a PB of: 9.1@150mph with more to come :)
Had some small problems with all the runs as my intercooler is peaking with Hight temps which is killing my top end power which is costing my MPH. Also still had traction issuse which will be fully rectified in a few more meets. With these sorted out the car should run into the 8s soon.

congrats on the awesome time mate..
on a personal note, the dynamics and chassis design of e-series cars are pretty bad, with the crazy power you have, and the crazier times you are running i dont think you will ever sort out the traction problems while keeping it on the street, even with those elephant tires on the rear.

have you considered a water spray injection for the cooler.
i no the last thing you think about when your doing 150mph is pushing a button, but might be a small cheap mod that could work..

i no you still drive it around on the road, so if you dont mind me asking whats your road tune like?

Blowing your own horn like this is a bit like rubbing it in the face to all I6 turbo followers. Not a very nice thing to do IMO.

Not a very nice thing to say to someone who has done what most only dream about :?:

Go eat some humble pie and come back when you can act a little more civil towards fellow (I6 turbo or not) members.

Dude what’s wrong u seem upset for some reason? is it because i wont give out much info? Or is it the times im running?
if you have nothing creative to say then GO EAT A d**k!!

thanks guys for the comments. 8s are just around the corner.

plenum pics ae on page 4 or http://www.rajabracing.com.au

4dlvr, i know what u mean about the dynamics an chassis. however we are working hard to sorting out the traction issue. just need some monor work an traction should be no problem.
water spray is just a waste of time. you will need like a garden hose or two an lots of water supply for it to even have a very small effect.

road tune is so great.drives 100 times better than a std car. its only on about 260or so rwk as its too much power for the streets.

It simply comes back to this secrecy issue. Tooting your own horn then being secretive has a name to it but I do not want to offend anyone.
Its go nothing to do with the times nor anything else.

I couldn't care less how much money you have spent. We spend over 100k a year running a 4mil Sunseeker, so what.

Part of being a member of a public forum is sharing information. Not tooting your own horn.
