hi guys. i apologise if there is already a few topics on this model car but i need a few questions answered as searching has been a little bit difficult.

i have just purchased a F6 typhoon manual and it has a few aftermarket bits on it. it has the ford adjustable tuning thingo which plugs into the computer so they tell me. it also has a ford exhaust system supposedly costing $$$. can anyone give me a run down on what HP etc this can make extra and reliability of this model. it was built DEC 2004.

thanks #30

well u posted it #30 :)

the tuning thingo would be the BA edit, the exhuast never heard of unless it is a herrod system which is the only exhaust ford will cover under warrenty

Like i said also check out if the clucth has been changed to the new spec version
as for hp seen many a phoon wiht 300+kw at the tyres with the edit and exhaust
reliablity should be ok as long as u treat it like your bikes..

not sure on much else
comon peeps help him it is # 30!!!

you shouldnt need an exhaust on it unless its really putting out some decent power..
Im thinking if its got tuner and exhaust, it might have injectors etc also = big hp.

how does it go?

btw: get it dynoed, that will answer all.

what colour are teh injectors - if the injectors have been canged they will be a different colour

Post a pic up of teh engine bay if you want some help.

BTW - Ford dont cover Herrod stuff under wty - its a dealership option and ford will not cover it as its not tehre stuff - the deal was never done with Ford it was between dealers and herrod.
I believe even Ford sent a memo out to dealers telling them to pull down the herrod signs

well youd be looking at 220rwkw std, and id guess, with a generic tune youd be up bout 240-250kw

i,ve only just singed up for it and pick it up on tuesday. the guy it belonged to had it dynoed and it had 330kw when tuned for power. yes im a little gullible and believe what the dealer has told me but think he is genuine.
to be honest im not sure if that is good or awesome but it certainly goes better than my standard XR6 manual

the car was owned by the dealer principle and he went overboard with options. will list them when i get the car.

Those sort of figures you can only believe with a dyn o sheet.

There's no way they would have pulled the engine out to do a dyno test, and if you only have an exhaust and a BA edit 330rwkw is a bit unbelievable for a phoon.
My guess is it's got about 240rwkw, and they've done a rough calculation of driveline loss to say it's got 330.
