I've spent so much on this car I may as well go forced induction and just keep it!
EB2 fairmont i6, already got all the usual n/a mods, extractors, cat, exhaust, wade 977b cam, thermofans conversion, cold air intake with enclosed pod filter, j3 chip custom dyno tuned. It's dual fuel with a fairly restrictive gas setup though. 1. is it possible to go FI on LPG? 2. supercharge vs turbo? I'm leaning towards SC only because in my 180sx, one thing that was annoying was boost lag. It had nothing up to about 2300rpm then it'd suddenly explode with power, i much prefer a more linear power curve. Although I assume with an i6, it wouldn't be as bad a 2L 4cyl in the 0-2300rpm range.... edit: I have $10k sitting in a term deposit which matures soon (matures a couple months before I get off p plates...and yes I planned it to be like that heh) and I'm not sure whether I should just drop like $5k on this car and keep $5k or cut my losses here, sell the fairmont at a huge loss and buy some sweet v8. OR, keep the fairmont as a daily and buy a project car and build an epic engine outside of the car...

Hey. I've found that turbo lag is minimal on my falcon, due to excellent exhaust manifold design and having 4L to spool a turbo doesn't do any harm either.
It's possible to run with the currant LPG setup, but vapour injection really is the best option. Attachment: This is a picture of my Au running on straight LPG with old mixer setup.

i was looking at supercharging my oldschool v8 and was told to run it on straight gas, gas is so cold it helps chill the air.
duel fuel would be bad as a happy medium needs to be found so peak power isnt as good. dedicate it to gas and should be sweet. a bloke a work sprayed my hand with lpg and it froze the skin instantly....i know how cold it is

Why couldn't you go dual fuel with forced induction?
We have J3 chip's available that can do dual tunes, so you could get a petrol injection & ignition setup on one tune & an ignition setup on the other tune to suit LPG. If you use a mixer ring like Turbotaxi has done, and upgrade your petrol system to cope with the increased power, i don't see why you can't get in the ball park of Turbotaxi's power on both fuels? Sure, it may not be as perfect as an engine setup for one fuel only, but it could be done. IT wasn't so long ago people used to say you couldn't run forced induction with a simple mixer ring setup, but that's been proven to be false. Cheers ToranaGuy

I use a vortech 12:1 rising rate reg, a new pump and it goes OK. But I run LPG most of the time, that is what the ECU is used to.

But you don't have different ignition maps for each fuel do you? Cheers ToranaGuy

If I was more serious I would be using a boost referenced ECU.
