Now that there are a few plenums available for the falcons I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on which is the best one and why?
They all cost roughly the same and you cant have a discussion about them on the XR6T site because they are all sponsors and you cant say one is better than the other. Here are some pics: Plazmaman: Process West: Nizpro: The nizpro is the one on the bottom of this pic: This is a before and after dyno graph for the nizpro plenum. I cant find any comparisons for the others. |

i've never been a big fan of the nizpro plenum, but looking at them in these pictures it looks like the simplest and best to me.
having the holes completly cut out is the go, then do the same to the lower half. i saw someone had done that on fordforums or somewhere |

I"d like to see something like the nizpro plenum but with oval shaped bellmoouths to suit the gutted BBM. That would be perfect for a forced induction application.

I lean towards Nizpro like I said elsewhere Dan, mainly for aesthetics but also because Simon has backed up what he says with dyno results, re: the gutting of the lower half.

Me too unless someone can give me a good reason not to go with the nizpro one.
When Nick has finished his R+D with the EA I would like to get one before my turbo goes on. |

when you say gutted, do you mean butterflys removed or cutting the alloy out of the bottom so they are ovals, not 2 small holes.
as for asthetics , that was the reason why i didn't like the nizpro one |

We just ported the smaller port to try and keep some velocity and low rpm torque to make a small bellmouth...With a boxed upper.. Not as neat as cast manifold but works much the same...We also drilled out the lower threads and tapped threads on 6mm upper manifold plate so there's NO bolts through manifold or inside it....[On AU engine but very similar]
But realy I'd say they all work.. Its just individual aesthetics to what people like.. Don't always compare upper power levels for street engine.. You see even on Nizpro manifold it was slightly behind at lower rpm... Nothing to worry about though...

Its hard making a decision but i guess you have to stick to facts like cfm, rinner length and so on and then make a decision becuase you have cam and turbo to consider as it works all together.
In other words let a professional decide LOL or more so the engine builder

I really like the process west one with the removable lid so you can get in there and make some modifications to the runners.

I think the nizpro manifold has got design merits. I can see what he has done, hence the reason he has got that sharp entry angle. The others pictured, whilst looking bling and made well, I am not a fan of flat floor with bellmouths for forced induction.
Wouldn't an inlet manifold shootout be good

Possibly 6 h.p between them all ???
If the V8 inlets have anything to go by? The longer the runner 10 to 12 inch with nice big runners is better in both torque and power..You can get away with short runners with forced induction.. But I'd like to see a longer runner as these are knock offs from factory manifolds.. In any case as I have said above I'd say only 6 h.p difference even with longer runners...Most long runner manifolds have small ports to aid low rpm torque as in F150 efi motors... No actual bellmouth just ported lower inlet so there's no 90* sharp edges... Hopefully to reduce any chance of turbulence...

are you familiar with the nitto plenum? id like to see back to back with one of those.. they are probably the only ones which replace the entire manifold

Yep Ive seen them.
They are around $1000 more than the ones I listed at last look. They look the goods but there have been some reports of cracking which have apparently been rectified in the design process. Not sure this pic will work. |

Id be more inclined to go for the nizpro plenum reason being that they have been going turbo sixes for yr's EG VL turbo's and have been the leader of the pack for years now.
So im sure they know what there doing especially if there making 1000hp turbo six engines
