Before I start I have quite a few questions..

I want to know what you guys recomend, Now I think I will be going with the snort stage 2 kit. What boost would you recomend to run on a stock engine?
And will the stock ecu handle all this?

Im going to be "refreshing" the engine before I strap the blow dryer on the side of it, Any reccomendations on what I should do to it? Im thinking of changing gaskets, hoses, welch plugs all that kind of gear.

Also I want to rebuild and possibly strengthen my box and get a 2500rpm stall convertor (recomendations?) same as the diff, will a xr 3.45 hold up too the job?

Am I missing anything else? I want to get everything straight before the booster goes on, so atleast I know my driveline will stand up to it.

Also, What do you think I should do when my mrs finds out? lol

Thanks guys, Ill keep you's updated with pics etc. Might take me awhile but ill get there!

Good stuff, all the best with the install.

Regarding the questions in the first post, with the exception of what you should do when the Mrs finds out, these have all been answered many times in the forced induction forum. Chef's posts are a good start. For a hi power setup like this i'd look at what Pyro has said in the past as well.

I will say this. Dont even consider running a stage 4 kit on a stock ECU.

hrm, what would be my best bet with running the stage 4 kit.

Engine rebuild with forgies to drop the compression and an after market ecu?

xchaser, from being in the gong you do realise you will be picked on very quickly if you dont have a engineers certificate. and you need to upgrade your brakes as well to get one :P

i honestly reckon you will be spending a min of 4500 at least

The CAPA Kits dont need brake upgrades so I cant see why the snort kits would.
Chef, where about did you get your engineered, i'm going to get mine done very soon, anything I should know, need to do?? did you have any trouble passing emissions test? how about your wolf, any problems with that? also if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost..

Cheers

I got it done in qld. qld transport dept is a little more easy to get along with and I spend half the year up there anyway.
Only the turbo hardware was engineered, its written down as having a chipped standard ecu ( wolf is very hidden  ). Brakes never got mentioned but they were tested and passed easy. The engineer noted that the motor was perhaps only making 30% more power... HA!
The main things he was looking for was a quiet exhaust, ground clearence, intercooler mounted securly and not lower than radiator suport panel, new cat fitted, eng bay wiringloom left standard, suitable heat shielding over turbo protecting brakes.
Cost is very affordable
