Hey guys,

just added a 6speed manual BF xr6 turbo ute to the collection. Looking to doa few things to really make it thye meanest ute on the road. Obviouslt things like new piping and intercooler are obvious, and also winding up boost, but I am looking for other suggestions. I am not planning on changing the turbo as of yet (no need to coz the car is new). any input appreciated.

Change your exhaust intake piping K&N air filter cold air intake get a cam spend some money on the head change your valve springs put the boss 290 valve springs in or aftermarket custom turbo headers fuel pump injectors chip your ECU fuel pressure reg street machine had a little bit in about the computers in ford and about the aftermarket chips and computers you can put in them.
All little things are good you see alot of changes in your engine because they all add up.
have fun

there are a few cmas going around but not many alot of $$$ tho sort of cheap way would be exhaust intake piping and intercooler and wind boost up
Boss told me to do with a turbo car is wind the boost up to see how much it can take and if she blows rebuild it stronger but he is a freak lol its just stupid

yep sure will,, but what you wanna do is put an edit on it, goto www.intunemotorsport.com and have a look at the flash tuners, remember, the ECU in the BA/BF is a big system and capable of alot, by the SCT flashtuner and get a custom edit created, they come with pretty decent standard edits, but if you want big power, change your injectors, and fuel pump, spend some money (duh) and get a custom dyno tune individually suited to your car, best thing is you can reflash it back to stock in 5 seconds, then reload your edit in the same amount of time. look into it.. this is a serious ECU editor, this is what the ford range has lacked until now, think LS1EDIT for ford and alot more powerful.

k here goes!

first check out this forum www.fordxr6turbo.com they will let u know everythin!

this is a rough list in order in which they all recomend u should get things goin....

typhoon 2nd cold air intake
injectors
cappa edit
3 1/2 dump pipe and all the way out
valve springs ( dyno will let u know when)
fuel pump
also lucky u got the 6 speed so all u goota do is change the clutch

this should see u just under 300rwkw!
now after that if u still wont more then bigger intercooler
nizpro plenum as well to shorten the pipe work a s**t load!
now after that u can push it to 350rwkw easy! BUT
the rods will most prob give way between 330-350rwkw! this is a proven fact as many other members has happen to them... if u wanna go more wil then that then rebuild the bottom end with forged pistons and rods...
cams and head work is a LAST result as the ba head flows really well...
hope this helps...

ps dont forget to get the edit retuned after your finsihed all your mods to get it all good...

cheers

oh sorry i just saw someone said boss 290 valvesprings... they will do sweet f**k all! proven fact cause heaps of people have tryed and they falled! best off gettin the nizpro ones they can handle up to a s**t load there the ones they used in there 1000hp motor! or the crow ones are supposed to be really goood i heard as well...

also the waste gate actulater and swing valve will have to be upgraded to handle boost as well once u hit the 300rwkw...
