just want to know if anyone is running a j pipe style setup on a daily driven 4L (pics). i saw this setup on an xg ute at work and the fella said it went like a dream on low boost and full time gas. i was thinking of making up a j pipe with some flanges and whacking on a cheap turbo and running 5-6 psi with standard ecu and injectors. from what ive read the map sensor can deal with this amount of boost pressure. will stand ard injectors cope (without running at 100% all the time) with 5-6 pound or should i be looking at some AU injectors? dont want a race car just abit more oompf.

5 psi will be fine on standard injectors. the au injectors dont flow any more,
the problem with the big i6 is running a cheapo setup can make you go backwards sometimes.. you need a decent sized turbo to begin with, t04e/t3 a minimum, but even with 5psi you risking blowing something, youd want to run a j3 just to be safe, you will need a fuel regulator, 2.5" exhaust at minimum, a exhaust manifold, your looking at a couple thousand at minimum.. personally id rather go a stage 2 kit from snort performance.. run it at 7psi on a stock motor and it will last you years

this fella made the j-pipe himself, was running an ED engine, computer and harness. had a fair big "ebay turbo", small front mount and he just heat wrapped anything exhaust related and said his had that setup for 2 yrs and no issues. cos him bout 700 or so...

NOT that recomend it ...
A 4 to 1 rising rate fuel reg, Walbro 255 intank fuel pump, MSD boost retarder or similar.. YES a J pipe will work fine!! Colder plugs.. Around 66mm sized turbo generally will work fine.. As in T04Z, TA45, GT4088 etc...Preferably with T04 turbine housing...
