i mate of mine was looking at buying an XR6T.. back when they were fairly new.. took it for a test drive... was impressed.. but said it had a 'rough finish'...

he ended up buying a dc5 integra type r...

as was stated earlier.. the market and therefor development of the latter car is much greater then that of the falcon... ford australia would need to expand overseas.. in order to increase quality but retain price....

atleast they aren't over priced like i beleive some high end holdens to be...

well why don't they export the xr6t to the US? Ford are struggling over there with the five hundred model... a BF would sell pretty well over there I think, look at the Pontiac GTO (Monaro) sells pretty well over there. It's different to what they normally get.
By globalising the Australian product they can deliver massive savings to us, and then we can see more BAs on the roads :p.

Even though they are one of the very few N/A 4's I would pay money for, an Integra Type R over an XR6T??? Really?

N/A Type R's with mods are in the 14's.

A stock Integra type R will not duck under 15 seconds.

Still, as I've said earlier, they're one of the very few N/A 4's I would gladly own :D

id say that car was a friday car hey... build friday afternoon before a long weekend... we really dont see too many problems with them. Diffs arent super common, turbos never seen play up, radiators have been an issue since AUII's (but fixed in BF)...

Have you come across many problems with the alleged "overboost" storys that have been going around.

Also. Are you blokes able to tap into the ECU and add / subtract boost? What are the limits of the service computer thingy?

cannot program anything other than ford calibration upgrades... i havent come across the overboosting problem, but the customers we have that own them, dont really give them grief..

i did read somewhere of another guy from a dealership who managed to load typhoon programming into a std turbo. i would like the details of this is you r reading this, i have tried a manual vehicle entry via typhoon ecu tag number, but a manual entry wont allow you to reprogram.

C'mon man I hate having to argue with you.
DC2 Integra Type R runs like a 14.7 factory.
Gsi runs about a 15.5, VTI-R runs about a 15.

You love it!

Is the DC2 the Jap spec model with the 184kw?

Cause the Aussie spec 147kw model won't bust a 14 mate
