People with positive displacement blowers on their cars seem to belittle centri blowers.

Are they better? Or just different. The way i see it...

Centri blowers
-more forgiving on the drivetain/motor as boost builds progressively
-makes more power per pound of boost
-more ideal for stock motors
-about as quick as the pd car down the quarter mile
-more fuel efficient when driving sedately.
-has a turbo like rush feel to it as power really builds up relative to revs

Positive displacement blowers
-higher average power as boosts as hard down low as up top.
-likely to need a built motor as to get big power up top will put heaps of pressure down low.
-feels like a bigger n/a motor rather than rush feel of the centri.

Is the centri the poor cousin blower or just a different experience which many prefer?

JUST like turbo's .. Fit the right size and components and they're all desirable..

I've gone for PD.. the appeal of full boost just off idle suits my usage. What do you want to achieve?

Mate I will give your my thoughts between the 2 systems ok.
I had a Cappa Vortex supercharger fitted to my VY 285kw Clubsport with also had Dart heads and a small camshaft (Camtech custom ground) it made 338rwkw ok it was a tad laggy until it reached around the 3000rpm mark then it would pull very strong all the way to 7000rpm.
I then decided to sell the Vortex blower and had a Harrop positive displacement supercharger fitted same heads and cam, the difference was the Harrop would start to boost from idle and continue to 7000rpm but it really cam on strong at 1800rpm it made 354rwkw.
I found the Harrop to be more of a drivable set up and far better on fuel you might say an all-round better set up.
Now this is just what I found on my vehicle ok I am not saying the Vortex is no good and in saying that the tuner that did the work told me that for out and out power/drag racing he though the Vortex was better as they worked better at higher revs to produce power.
I suppose it would depend on the vehicle, what mods you have and the tuner in each case.
Cheers
