Anyone know if a different Powerdyne supercharger is used on an AU VCT I6 compared to an EF/L/AU non-VCT I6?
You can see from the following photos that a different mounting bracket is used, and the blower is mounted at a different angle due to the different belt system on an AU VCT. But the outlet of the blower is still at the same position - so does this mean a different model PD is used, or is it just a replacement back peice for the blower? EF I6: AU VCT: I'll ask CAPA later, but I'm in uni class at the moment using wireless internet and thought someone might know... |

I would be 99% sure that they are both BD-11a head units just with the rear section rotated on a different angle.

That's what I thought. So the rear section just rotates or it's a different rear section? |

Assuming its like the S-trim I have, and all turbo head units ive seen, it will just be a case of rotating...
i.e. Process would be something along the lines of; loosen the bolts rotate carefully check clearance between compressor wheel and case and finally re-torque bolts. You may want to check/confirm with someone who knows better though. At a minimum, you'll need to know what to re-torque the bolts too. |

The VCT belt is longer than the standard belt and it appears to only suit the AU VCT, I assume the different bracket allows them to use an off the shelf belt.

I believe you are correct - your the second person who has given me this answer now. |
