Alright,

I'm seriously thinking about the CAPA Vortech kit for my BA 6 cyl.

I can get it installed by Marks Workshop in York for $7,500 (305kw non intercooled kit) or the kit itself from CAPA for $5,700.

Seriously, how hard is it to install this kit yourself. Anyone done it? Is the chip pre-tuned, or do you need a few hours on the dyno to get it all squared away?

I'm also thinking I might need to ditch the open diff and throw in a Limited Slip centre. I think 300 kw's may own a single 215 Dunlop!!!

Any ideas what sort of 1/4 time you would get from this setup?

Anyones thoughts would be appreciated.

Phil

use an edit for tuning, that way u can have 3 different tunes (eg. valet, daily tune and a race tune or economy tune) and an LSD would be a good idea to.
$1800 for install? i am sure u could get some mates to help u out to do it for a slab and a bbq on a saturday arvo

Yeah, it's definately at the engine. Still going to have drama's with an open diff I think tho! By rule of thumb, that's still 305hp at the wheels.

Still a fair bit of mumbo!

That will still be enough fun on the streets!
Yeah stuff that, they're ripping you for the install.
If you or your mates have a little car knowledge, you don't need much the it should be easy.
As everyone has said, you have a BA, you should get the Flashtuner.
By doing the install yourslef, you could get yourself half the flashtuner and a new LSD. Wouldn't Capa knock something off the price, if the kit included a chip or some sort.
