Well my nicely worked ed 4.0L motor has blown up because my hose broke on my waste gate and last thing i sore on the boost gauge was 27psi then the motor cut out, but more to the point i have bought a AU series II motor with 38,000km and put it in with a few mods but it just doent have the power as the last motor, i think it maybe the inlet manifold, does anyone know why the ba xr6 turbo doesnt use the bbm with the butterflies? If u look at one they don't even have the acuator

i think it might have something to do with the fly by wire throttle body and computer programing

Why don't you just use your ED manifold on the AU motor??
Can use the same piping then too, makes cooler piping a hell of alot easier.

The BAs dont use the butterflys cause apparently they tested it and they didnt notice any effect under boost, so they pulled it out.

The butterflies are for tuning the runner length in a NA engine. Makes no difference in a boosted engine.

Would enabling it on a boosted motor help spool a larger turbo or would there be no benefit?

I tried putting my ed manifold on but the throttle body leaves no clearence for the a/c compressor to fit

The length of the runners in NA applications are very benificial (hence the butterflies) but in forced induction systems there is no effect.

actually it helps promote lowdown air speed and thus allows earlier turbo spool up to so yeah!!!!

Fit your old ED Rocker gear and camshaft.
If you have a look at the specs on the AU camshafts its suprising that they make any power at all.

ED and AU valve gear are not combatable !!! They have different rocker ratio's.....

to use the "ED" intake manifold, you just need the standard brakect that moves the aircon down a couple of inchs,
The ED cam and rocker gear should bolt straight bak on to the AU.
