i know there is most likely a tread on this topic but i have a standard ba 1 tonne tray and was looking at supercharging it but that alone is 6g for a kit, why not buy a ba turbo engine and put in it, i've seen a few on ebay around 5-6g with harness and all boltons, is there any trouble doing that rather than supercharging for the same price?

id just trade the old ute in on a turbo one would be cheaper and more reliable in the end up much cheaper than both those options

yes you can do it.. i turbocharged my ba xt falcon. and its great but.... i could have traded in spent an extra 10-12k and bought a ba xr6t and with that i would have got a better gearbox, brakes, wheels, trim, diff ect. im on my 3rd gearbox.. but it is good pulling up to xr6t and xr8s and blowing them away.. it depends what you want.. it is a bit of work but unreal if your after a sleeper

If you're patient and can hold out for a while you can gather all the bits you need separately. I have just about everything i need, took me a few months to get it all but doing it that way i only spent around (if not less) than $2,000, bear in mind that's not including a tune, exhaust or intercooler piping either.

how do you hose off an xr6t with an xt-t ? aren't they essentially the same car minus diff gear change ? which would work against you as mentioned.

well after my xt-t copped a set of 60lb injectors with a walbro fuel pump and then a bigger front mount with less restricting 3 inch pipe work and a bigger exhaust, it has a 10lb wastegate and a very safe 10lb tune with CAI.... thats how i hose maloos and monaros and xr6ts.... dont beleive me... i ran 13.3 with wheelspin and that was after i smoked the tyres passed mid track on the run before... hahaha

Sounds like a quick XT. I think your XT would be a fair bit lighter than an XR too.

well that makes sense lol

would they be much lighter though ? i'm guessing the differences would be possibly... power windows, lsd, premium sound? nothing else much changes does it ? i'm not a fraud salesman by any length so not aware of specific variances, i only just realised the other day that base model b series don't all come with power windows lol
