The setup you have and a dose pipe are two totally different things...

Firstly a dose pipe doesn't run a BOV. The TUU TUTUTUTU sound you get is the air getting "chopped up" as it comes back through the turbo when you lift off the throttle. And the shape of the dose pipe also has alot to do with it, thats why the pod is in the engine bay :)

I'm guessing when you back off the throttle in your car you just get a pssssht sound... as that would just be the air the getting vented out of the BOV..

EDIT: added vids

Shape of the pipe affects what your dose sounds like.

the 90* bend and few cm's of straight pipe amplify the sound of the turbo flutter coming from the compressor. It's a bit hard to experiment with different lenght pipes in the BA/BF's as we are hard pressed for space..

This is a thred on the calaisturbo forum, you might find it interesting...

Dude, your car sounds sick - full VL style right there!

I love that there's a sticky for that.

no only the shape but size and if you use metal, stainless steel or alloy thats a big affect too not only the bends..

[quote="schnoods"]And thats caused by the throttle closing and the air moving back through to the turbo, trying to spin it the other way???

If I wer to do a modification it would be to wreck tyres, not turbo's. :)quote]

true that. the fluttering is the air trying to spin the turbo backwards. and dose pipes with no filter are f**k dangerous

look athe extreme danger of that intake pipe at the back just opened up to suck in unfiltered air. good for your motor

I have mates that have had heaps of turbo cars i mean heap, and to date not one of those cars have had a blown turbo from this. They drive/drove there cars every day nothing less the 5000rpm rev in each gear they absolutely kill the cars as thats why we bought them and doing them up..

If you have a propper look buddy that pipe is doing nothing... the other end of that open pipe leads to the OEM air box not the turbo, as you can see in the pic the turbo is running a pod filter :P
But the engine breather also leads into that open pipe. only just realised that!
