If you have a K & N and a flash tuner you will be totally wrapped with the performance. Ive got a K & N, bigger cooler and just put on the capa 10psi generic tune and it scares teh s**t out of me. With the auto it brakes traction comming on boost in second gear even with the 245 sp9000 tyres. Such a massive gain for not a whole lot of money.

SWEET.

What did the capa 10psi generic tune cost ya?
Whats involved?

and how much was the bigger intercooler? Was it a straight forward replacement or did you need new pipe work?
I saw one on ebay that is a straight bolt on replacement for around $700?

sorry for all the questions - I'm new to the world of turbo's...

The capa flash tuner cost me $900, comes with 3 tunes, 1 that wont rev over 3000rpm to save fuel, 1 that runs 8psi and needs 95ron petrol and one that runs 10psi and needs 98 petrol. To use it all you do it plug it into the plug in your fuse box and select the map you want, takes about 3 minutes and piece of piss to do, no wiring and you can return to teh stock tune at any stage. See the capa website for more info.

THe cooler i got was 495 delivered and is a replacement cooler that uses all the stock piping and comes with brackets and bolts, easy to fit and looks awesome.

Damn - that cooler does look good - and a good price!!
If you get a bigger cooler - you need to get it flash tuned or the capa tuner right??

Where did you get the bigger cooler from?

and would you recomend the flash tuner from Herrod or the Capa alternative?

Cheers mate (your very helpful)

Nah you can run the cooler without the flash tuner with no problems at all, i did it for about a month or so. The cooler i got from ebay, a company called xtc make them. If you go to www.fordxr6turbo.com and search for wog cooler you will find heaps of info, or pm dyno wog, he is the owner of xtc and will be able to organise one for you.

As for the flash, its hard for me to say because i havnt been in one with the herrod tuner and im not sure if they use their own tunes or stick with the generic capa ones, i havnt really heard bad reports from either company so i guess go with your personal preference.

No Problems.

Yeah get the flash/edit tune done.
Just did it to mine and it flys... for 900 and 100 for filter you get into mid 200wkws and close to 12s.

Best bang for buck car in YEARS

Yea i cant recomend these things enough, they actually make it feel like a turbo car. The stock xr6t has no deffiante on and off boost feeling where as with the flash tuner when it comes on boost u hear the turbo scream and it just keeps sucking you back into the seat. its awesome.
