a mate of mine has just had an edit done and got 247rwkw. was told this was limit b4 new injectors req. maybe he's having his chain pulled. edit got done by graham west, who has a pretty good name in s.a. car got dynoed dead stock at hightek dyno and made 201rwkw which is on the healthy side. he then added 2nd intake (bf xr6t also have them as well as typhoon) and before edit on graham west dyno put out 210rwkw. car was strapped down. on the road the initial response off the line is not much diff but as revs rise above 2 -3000rpm its insane.

according to the previous posts stock injectors will handle more than the 247 he has or maybe the tuner was just playing it safe.

either way its good value for money. no other mods except intake so it seems very healthy to me.

adz - kpm seem pretty good going on the chats i've had with them. dyno day on 7th oct. not sure on their prices though. another mate priced cams and tune for his ba xr8 and they were over $1000 dearer than herrod (maughen thiem port adelaide). may be diff with a turb though.
typhoon/bf xr6t secondary intake can be got from any dealer for around $80. bout $140 for complete bottom of airbox.

Cheers for the info mate.
I have used Graham West on my EF in the past. His work is top quality, but it is a little pricey too...
I will do the ring around when I finally get my flash tuner and see who will do the best job for a reasonable price...

On another topic - I was told to get a Trans cooler fitted to protect the slush box, but then heard from another source that the XR6T have them fitted off the factory?
Can anyone clarify this??

240-260 is probably on the money for a custom tune running 12psi or there abouts. You gotta factor in the variance of dynos and cars alike. Not all cars respond the same. My car made 251rwkw with nothing more then a tune and CAI. On the other hand, another car, with the same mods only managed 230rwkw, with the same sort of base tune. Once i added the rest of the gear that climed to 304rwkw. Injectors are generally at their limits at around the 250-260rwkw, although there are exceptions. A fuel pump upgrade is also a good investment for safety. The last thing you want is the car to be running out of fuel when giving it a flog..

In regards to the car that made 247rwkw... thats close enough to 250rwkw... if anyone can accurately tell the difference between 247 and 250rwkw by simply driving the car then they must be a genius. Provided the car has safe afrs, then 247 is a good tune. If you have a dyno graph, post it up and we can see where it makes boost etc etc.

If you've got an auto, i'd opt to get a trans cooler fitted. I think the typhoons may have them, not sure on the BF XR6Ts. If you're chasing more then 250rwkw, i'd start saving for an auto rebuild and get it strengthened. Plenty of people have busted their boxs with bigger power.

As can be seen from my graph, boost comes on very strong, and very early... it can be a real beast to drive

The most important thing is safe afrs and a nice driveable tune.

I'll viuch for nicks T, I had a ride in it stock and just after it got dynoed and the differnce was huge and certainly imediately noticable for passengers, not just drivers..

Awesome bang for buck!

968 injectors, 4inch magic cat, ASE intercooler, CAI, Edit, Walbro Fuel Pump. Also had the centre muffler removed, but that doesn't really add to performance.. just gives it a better growl. Edit alone gave 251rwkw. Could squeeze more out of it but its not worth it really. When/If i do valve springs i'll re-tune it and it should go closer to 320rwkw

i agree.. with edit alone i thought OMG this thing is insane. The power difference was so huge, and so noticeable. After driving around like that for about 4 or so months, the itch came back and i needed more. Then when i added another 53rwkw on top of the 251... jesus. How some of these guys drive 350+ and 400+ rwkw my god... insane.

yeah mate, thats how it was tuned. Peaks at about 16psi down low and then after about 4500-5000rpm it tapers down to about 12psi. Its tuned that way because of the factory valve springs and the standard wastegate. Holding 15psi till 6000rpm would kill the springs quick smart and the wastegate could have problems holding that boost. I rarely rev the car hard enough to notice the boost dropping, as its up and moving so damn quick there is no need to hold it much past 4500rpm

You'll find that most Ts are tuned in a similar way to this... or at least those with factory valve springs.

How were your km's effected per tank after the flash tune?

Worse, better or the same on average?

it all depends on how you want to drive it mate. Its ten times worse if you're got your foot down all the time, but cruising around town without boost gets pretty good economy. I live in canberra, and with a mixture of flogging it, and cruising i average around 12.5-13L/100. On the highway its usually 10 or under. On average i usually get around 420km per tank before i worry about filling up.. and even then it will only fill to about 50-55 litres..
