12psi will be fine on the stock engine, Mine has just turned over 300,000kms and I have been running 11psi with a gt3540 for the last 4 months with zero hassles.

When it was first tuned it made 202rwkw and I have run a 13.67 at 105mph at heathcote.

On saturday it only made 186rwkw but it was running really rich on boost, it was about 10:1 so it would have sapped some power.

I tested the engine compression the day after just to make sure the engine was okay and the compression is still perfect.

My car is auto as well. The car is getting a new cam and a retune for 15psi shortly. I cant wait.

Yep the great thing about forced induction is that big revs are not required to make power..With nearly a 4" stroke low rpm is even better....Then use the turbo to make power not rpm...
Then she'll last along time..Even on a hi mile'r...

yeah I was very surprised my compression test came out okay, I cant wait to turn up the boost. I think im going to follow micheals footsteps and just replace the engine with another second hand one when it breaks. Hopefully not before i run a few 12's though.

Its the auto thats the issue..Too much heat with two big oil coolers..Imo the galeries inside are too small?? Not enough atf floating around in there to cool things dowm...

Im still iffy about the auto transmission. Im yet to buy an oil cooler, money has been too tight lately. Yet I havent had any problems. The light has only come on twice to tell me it has overheated (power light flashes)

Once was at heathcote after my 6th run in about 12-13 minutes. The other I was driving a car full of mates for about 45 minutes with the shift kit off.

the shift kit I am running makes a huge difference. When it is off the shifter metal gets really hot to touch but when it is on, it barely gets above ambient. This is an electronic kit by the way, not the same as 9 psi EB kits though. It makes a huge difference. How does Micheals hold up?
