i undid the three 14mm bolts that hold the rear section of my exhaust on.. un hung the 3 rubber "hangers".. and trie'd to wriggle the exhaust out.. but "for the life of me" could not.. would only move an inch.. i cleared it off the bolts/lugs but appeared to have no room to manouvre it over the diff/chassis cross members.. -would just foul/get caught.. is there a certain trick?? i tried to install my quad tip system yesterday but had to abort as i couldnt even get the raer section exhaust out...

any suggestions?? -cheers...

Jack the car up about 4 foot in the air, that should do the trick.......lol

Why do you think exhaust shops have hoists???? Makes life easier......

Failing the abovementioned solution, maybe some ramps might give you enough room, but i doubt it.........

Cheers

Daz :D

I fitted a twin 2.5inch herrod system to a MK2 BA XR8,when removing the tailpipe section it is a very tight squeeze it does catch on the heat sheild which will need to be pushed back into position. Also putting the new rear exhaust section in is abit fiddly too.Does make it easier if it was on a hoist or off the ground a fare amount to help wriggle the exhaust in and then out.

Matt, do not modify this thing til it hits 100k. Wait for the warranty to expire. Trust me it is an ex cop car, its in your best interest to leave it til then

I would also wait for the warranty to expire too.Sounds like a good idea.
