how strong are the 6 speed autos in the bf's?
will they have any trouble with 300rwkws?the mrs wants me to get an auto so she can drive it but if they wont take it i'll just get the 6 speed manual

The manual is your best bet. My only problem is the clutch.
But the ZF is a fantastic box. Im not sure what the guys are doing with em but I know 300rwkw isnt a problem for it.

few blokes have smashed out a 10 on the stock box, 400++rwkw.
But they've all eventually needed a rebuild.
They were popping input shafts but apparently later boxes now use a heat treated input shaft.
Tailshaft is the weak link.

ZF will piss in 300rwkw though.

smoke_ has a BF XR6T with the ZF and 370rwkw, it hasnt got any issues AFAIK

NFI, but thats only a big power issue from what i've seen/read.
tailshaft is probably the bigger problem, kyle/6boost managed to pop one in his stock F6 Tornado just stalling it up on the street (i stopped trying it after i heard that :lol:)
and i've seen 2 bust tailshafts at calder, but they were both low11/high10 cars.

theres a C*** on fordxr6turbo.com over in WA who knows his s**t with these transmissions, if you do a search over there on ZFs hes got some pretty good posts.
i think he's been doing something to strengthen them too, but f**k if i know what.
nizpro are sending their ZFs over west to get rebuilt though so he must know what the dealio is.
