Ok...i have 42lb injectors with the 42lb maf, base ignition is set to 24deg... still running stock ecu as funds simply dont allow me to go aftermarket atm. Car is harder than normal to start, and refuses to idle, and wont rev cleanly...What or where do i start as i simply dont have much knowledge when it comes to ignition etc... someone said to raise the idle but i cant see how that would help it rev? Car was fine and would rev cleanly and idle before injectors and maf went in?

yes maf is a pro - m maf with 42 on the side, i have the papers that came with it...i would have assumed it would have at least been able to idle but i t cant, it keeps 'hunting' before finally stalling

hmmmm, there are just too many variables here for an off the shelf recalibrated maf.
obviously ur tune is a mile out, hunting at idle usualy indicates a lean condition and this would definately stop the engine from revving cleanly, do u hav an adjustable fuel pressure reg? try turning the fuel pressure up and see if that improves the situation any do u hav an afr guage? u should, i wouldnt build a forced induction settup without one, invalueable tuning tool and will quickly tell u wats going on mixture wise |

hmm... not running a adj fuel reg yet, but i may have incorrectly assumed that if i nursed it i coulda waited...and still no a/f guage...are they really a worthwhle addition? Ive been told by some ppl not to waste my money on them?

An AFR gauge is almost a must.
If it leans out with boost well it can be all over, especially with the noise of the 8 you might not hear the detonation. A malpassi would be the easiest solution?

ok so a malpassi is next...how do i go about installing it? On the stock 5.0 fuel rail?

don't use a malpassi fuel reg. they are crap.
turbo smart regs seem to be a high quality unit. the easiest way to install is to run it inline after the stock reg.

dont get confused here, there is a difference between a simple a/f gauge, and a lambda/wideband a/f gauge... one IS a piece of crap (unless connected to a linear output from a wideband), the other is what will be used when your car is run on the dyno, and also they are readily available as an in-car system... have you checked for manifold vacumn leaks? have you tried just connecting the maf infront of the throttle body with a plain tube, ie, bypass any turbo system?? what else has been disconnected?? maybe try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery... check all the plug leads are connected?? also, since the plugs are probably fouled up now, take them out and replace them, or try cleaning them with an oxy

yes, there are rising rate regs (bad news) and 1:1 regs (good news)...
dont get an ebay OBX reg.. although, in your application, you are probably in need of a rising reg since you dont have any ecu tuning ability, but, im not 100% sure whether since you have the 42lb maf whether you can use a 1:1 reg... i think you probably can if you want a 1:1 reg, i do recommend turbosmart
