The main point to mention is that most factory stuff is very small, when you start uysing much bigger turbos the shafts lack strength relative to the mass of the wheels, when compared to the smaller units. Half the nosiy junk that people fit is useless anyway, noise is restriction, I hate carbs.
The turbine's inertia can snap the shaft when the compressor is suddently stopped or agressively slowed. Its much more prominant of large turbo's. Another thing is the ETT wheels are more succeptible to damage as the leading fins are relatively unsupported, they can bend if the flow reverses. |

Hey,
Does the pressure in the manifold help open the BOV, as i connected mine and i assumed it would open under vacuum, but it didnt, but it was very easy to push in???? Cheers Daz

It needs to be connected on ENGINE side of throttle body.. The vacuum and boost pushes against spring...

Yes also bigger turbo's generally mean higher boost levels and with front mount intercoolers, bigger piping etc there is a lot of pressurised air [energy] wanting to escape some where.. I broke some little Nissan turbo's running without BOV.. Best to run one..
