Considering I've seen several full kits go for <$1250 in the last 3 months (manifold, turbo, dump pipe, fuel pump, cooler, piping... etc)
I'd say you could have a turbo'd E series for under 2 grand. |

Everyone wants to get out of everything cheaper then it ends up paying more for repairs and whatever else goes wrong instead of paying for the good gear from the start.

thanks guys, the thing im worried about is the cheap kits you see floating around on ebay etc, they seem great for around 2000 but im sure they need a lot more. im not looking to run 11's or anything but i dont want a handgrenade either.
im not sure of my budget yet, but it will be a slow build up over the next year or so. thanks for giving me an idea. keep em coming guys.

A awsome turbo kit that a would buy is from these 2 guys. Awsome work at a good price for what your getting.
DO IT ONCE, AND DO IT PROPERLY http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=84707 http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=107445 http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=50987 Plenty of information in the thread and u will quickly notice that the extra money is well worh it. Not only will it perform alot better, its durable, reliable, it lasts and also looks alot better.

An AIT kit sold for 1250. |

I would consider the first 2 kits
kits are available at competitive rates including 600hp garrett gt3582r,tial44mm wastegate and manifold $3295 800hp garrett to4z, 44mm tial wastegate and manifold $3600 1000hp garrett t51r 48mm turbosmart wastegate and manifold $4100(add $200 for turbosmart 50mm gate) 1000hp garrett gt4202r 48mm turbosmart wastegate and manifold $4100(add $200 for turbosmart 50mm gate) I would rather pay triple the money and get brand new gear with warranty and will out perform AIT kit.

Wahhh time bomb.
So every 2nd hand turbo is a time bomb? Every 2nd hand kit is a time bomb? FFS they dont sell for much second hand because the s**t not that expensive to start with. If you want new you can buy a kit from Snort for <$4k with pretty much everything you'll need (other than ECU). |

The thing is, once you start, and if your happy, you won't stop. Which = a big money pit.
Either that or you will give up and sell the s**t for 3/4-1/2 the price you payed for it. Doing it for under $2000 ain't gona happen.
