ive got a brandnew garret GT2052 turbo off a landdrover 3 litre,5 cylinder diesel.

can i put it on to my stock ea mpi motor if it runs 5 or 6 psi.

will it kill any thing, will it run off the stock computer and injecters.

cos it is off the diesel motor will it really change mutch comperd with a petrol turbo?

so what sort of turbo should i run.

and if i was to use it on the ford or a smaller car like my Celica 1500 would it change any thing being a deisel turbo( would it spin up faster, or would i not handel the heat of a petrol engine).

are the seals or anything inside different to a petrol turbo.

dos anyone know what psi it could run.

A diesel turbo normally has a exhaust housing that would be considered too big for the compressor when used in a petrol vehicle. Also Diesels normally run high boost, meaning that slapping one "as-is" onto any motor will not be anywhere near optimum.

If you must use a diesel turbo because its "apparently" cheap then get one from a motor in the 7-8 liter range. The turbine size should be close to ballpark making it hopefully cheaper to upgrade at some date if you wish.

The Landrover turbo on the 4 cylinder Celica may have some slight lag but the performance SHOULD be OK.

got some pics of it on one of the engines out of a padock bomb. it only took an hour to put it all together but it is not in a car so we dont really no if it made a real difference. the engine is out of a datsun 1200.

yeah i got it brand new of a mate for $100 and could i just change the exhaust housing or would it be to costy

so thats what ya do with old radiator hoses... can I ask what your trying to achieve with this " set up " ?

we really only put it on to make the turbo spin and if it really did anything it would of been a bonus. you have to remember we set up and made every thing in one hour so it was not going to be the best [/quote]

The whole Landrover turbo is too small for a Falcon 6.

Go to www.forcedinductions.com on the products, turbo, master power page and have a look at the 60-1 turbo there should be dimension to give you an idea of how big a decent size turbo is. I am using this exact turbo and aiming for 300rwhp@12psi or less.
