Thats pretty much it, if you want a sleeper, then get a V2-SQ, water injection, or a blacked out intercooler.
I got my V1 cheap, so there's no point blacking out the cooler, when its as loud as F^&*

Martin do you still get the same sound out of the powerdyne as you do with a vortech. Ive heard/read somewhere that they are quiet the powerdyne superchargers?

The powerdyne is silent. Only noise it makes is the extra belt running on the engine and the sound of a s**t of compressed air rushing into a big engine.

As per dave's advice...

V1 s-trim = "what the f**k is that noise?"
V2 SQ = "what is that noise that's not heaps loud?"
Powerdyne = "you're belts are noisy!"

Having said this, ive heard V2 SQ's that make a bit of noise... then ive heard ones that make very little.

Mine is pretty loud at idle (not sure if it an SQ or not), but anything over idle and the exhaust takes over.

I like the whine but.

I'll have to shut this group buy down. After telling me a week ago they would work out prices I've heard nothing. My messages are not being returned and I've generally been given the run around.

Surprising really when I had 16 serious AU an E series owners and another few maybes. That's around $90,000 in business. I'm sure not everyone has had a bad experience with these guys. But this is the second time I've walked away frustrated from the same company. If this is what pre-sales support is like, I don't really want to experience post sales.

Personally I'm bringing in a few superchargers for myself and close mates. If anyone else wants to pick this up and run for it, good luck.

Spewing!
Had a feeling CAPA might not play ball...
I'll have to try and chase up a nicely priced blower from somewhere now.
If anyone heres of a Vortech going cheap, PM me!!

Yeah, I was surprised CAPA went the way they did. If they couldn't move on the price then fair enough. However I would have appreciated being told so. I don't think ignoring your customers is very good form.

I'm giving Dark Horse performance a call. I'll fabricate custom mounts etc...

I might give them a call after I get this rebuild set up.
Been looking at their site, a recoed V1 S-Strim from the states is looking like the go.
700 bucks of a brand newy is nothing to sneeze at.
If anyone is still set (I mean 100% set) on going through CAPA, send me a PM and I'll keep you in mind when my project starts moving forward (probably not for a month yet, but if you want to organise it sooner, I'm more then willing to help).

Blower is the easy bit to get. Brackets/pulley/intake piping setups should remain the focus of your investigations.

Get the blower off of ebay or www.corral.net if need be. But you're still looking at about 600 for a bracket from CAPA. And that's just getting started.

Mmm, corral might be another option I didn't think of for the blower.
Yeah Martin, brackets are a bit exxy
If anyones got a photo of one, let me know.
Just so I can see what's involved, and whether a cheaper proposition is possible.
No way I'm getting piping through CAPA.
Much cheaper for me to go local for most of that that.

The day after I spat the dummy CAPA got back to me, typical. Maybe they were just extremely busy. I know these guys have a good rep. so apology accepted.

CAPA Quote:
"Hi mate,

Sorry about the delay I can do the kits as follows:
1-5 $5,695.oo
6-10 $5,395.oo
10+ $5,270.oo
These are complete kits with software etc supplied.."

Last count was 16 people showing interest. If that translates into sales you will be looking at a saving of around $730. That could get you cam, exhaust, etc. Those prices are based on a stage 2 EF-EL 4.0 kit. I imagine prices will fluctate slightly in either direction if a different kit was required.

From here you will need to call Scott at CAPA on (08) 8582 3499. Mention the "Ford Supercharger Group Buy" and he will direct you from there.

P.S.

Can I ask that contact is made with Scott by May 17. He needs a date by which he can judge if its a goer...
