I have seen some wastegates on ebay going for about $150 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/38mm-Silver-Exte ... %3A1318are they any good they say they come with an 8psi spring is this OK for my turbo set-up. I have a t70 on a tuned length manifold with Lucas 42ilb injectors will this set-up be OK. I'm not after huge power not just yet anyway.I'm not going to run an inter cooler at the moment I just wanted a simple turbo set-up that I can put together quickly so will a 8psi waste gate be OK to run and should I use an boost controller as well any help would be appreciated thanks

i had nothing but trouble with my cheap one like that. fell apart .

get someone thing decent ,is my advice.

I reckon it's a bit small. I have a T70, with a 50mm gate and boost is steady, which is. in part due to my manifold design. They are such a simple device, and to part with more than $150 is a joke......

If you get a "cheap one" make sure the spring doesnt bind up, stopping the shaft from lifting off it's seat, otherwise it wont control boost properly.

This is my experience..........

OK I think Ill get myself the 50mm I was going to use the 38mm because it had the 8psi spring in them and i haven't been able to find a 50mm with a spring smaller than 14psi will the 14psi be OK with my engine set-up. thanks for the reply

i went by reputation and chose a tial... a 44 mm with a 10 psi spring..

it was marked with the 10 psi marking but hit 14 psi on the dyno during tuning..

replaced the spring with a new one even thou the other was new anyway and sure enough 10 psi is what i got..

DONT SKIMP ON WASTEGATE.. heard to many horror stories with cheapies..
