Just test drove the ED after I made up a simple cold air intake. Basically, I moved the battery to the other side and extended the air intake pipe to allow the filter to sit in the battery section. As its kind of a box area to start with, I just made up a cover and side out of some thin stainless steel sheet. then i cut a big hole in the battery tray and guard and fed a 100mm diameter alloy ducting hose into it. the other end just sits at an opening at the front of the spoiler.
"Seat of the pants dyno" results are great with alot better breathing at high revs. The power doesnt seem to taper off anymore which is great and air inlet temps look a few degrees lower. Will be interesting to see how it is on the freeway now. |

Yeah kind of clean... I will make a better intake later on. I'm thinking of a large box section in the front spoiler with a 5in pipe all the way to the turbo... just looking into a different power steering pump that will allow the 5in pipe to fit past

That looks fantastic chef and looks as though it should work a treat as well.
Lol, i just took the easy option and mounted the pod under the headlight... but then, look at the location of the supercharger and there isnt really other option. Wow, i see what you mean about the PS pump, looks like a real bugger.

Yeah, its right in the way! Im hoping to find a similar pump with a remote resevoir.
I tried the pod in the front bar on the EA but theres accually very poor air flow down there... must have something to do with the way the air goes over the car? |

Move the coolant tank, might be easier.

It would have to be easier than finding a remote resevoir PS setup

What about the big hose into the tank... where the hey am I gonna run that big sucker? I'll have a good go at it though, alot easier than buggering around with PS pumps

I'm wondering having it that low during summer you might be picking up air which is heated alot more from the road than if it were at it's regular height. Be very interesting to see how it goes - be even better if you could rig up an inline temp sensor to report the air temp it is dragging through.

Yeah, Id like to set up a temp sensor inside the box... air temp sensor just befor the throttle body is a good indication too, but its after the intercooler. Its usually 3 deg below ambient temp... was sitting on 8deg this morning, radio guy said it was 11 deg. But the thing I have noticed is it doesnt heat up with driving like it did with just the open pod. Stays a good 6 deg lower now.
On the freeway last night, on 50% load I noticed thge AR meter dip into the orange when it normally sits just on the outer red LEDs, so its definatley getting more air into the motor |
