The autos arn't the same and I'm not sure if the diffs are either.. wouldn't it be easier to just buy an xr6t to begin with..

I had this dream once too copez, but the bloody internals arnt really up to scratch and the ECU is a pain in the balls. I'd like to get a turbo in the near future.

I've contacted snort performance regarding this and awaiting for their advice as they sell full turbo kits with the gt35/40 for about $5,000. Add injectors, turbo ECU and tune all up bringing total up to $8,000. Add that to the cost of the car ($13,000) and your looking at $21,000 for a car that will be faster than a stock xr6T.

Now add minor reliability for another $2,500: trans cooler, oil cooler and change the dif.

Finally if needed: better block internals, and valve springs <<< Not sure how much all this costs but its what makes me tear my hair out.

An entire turbo motor with accessories and ECU is only $5-6K nowadays from FTG autosalvage and will have everything you need.

Remember the standard turbo with a modified wastegate will be fine for around 400rwkw.

The BF motors are good for around 350rwkw on standard internals.

sounds like an even better choice. Do you know what the BA motors internals are capable of. 300rwkw would be nice.

By the way, I spoke to you at dyno day but you probably dont remember me, you were telling me how you just decided oneday "hmm, a BA motor might work" :)

Yep i remember.

From what Ive read 340 is a safe limit if tuned well.

Back when i started my conversion If i knew what i knew now I would have bought a complete xr6t motor and used that rather than starting with an NA motor and putting aftermarket gear on it.

thats good advice I like to hear as its actually from experience. So 6k from ftg, and you can have yourself a full running system. And I know its possible as they built the successful tsunami car.

Yep, im not sure what the deal is with getting the ecu working in a B series though.

Im sure some tuners have done it though and could tell you whats needed. Dynowog has done some conversions. Ill ask next time i go see my car.

Cheers, the more information that can be shed in this matter the better. From what i've heard, dynowog seens to think its very easy to do so thats a positive at least.
