Yes the Walbro did have a batch of pumps that where recalled / replaced..
Plenty of people have the 255 intank with no issues..
Including myself as intank lift pump..
It's actually smaller than the std pump..
The other option is the Aeromotive A1000 ?? It's a nice pump...
Using two of these on my project 1Uz turbo Celica...

Thanks EBXR8380 - those aeromotive tanks support some massive horsepower. I think they'd be fairly expensive landed here though.

Walbro 255 sounds like it might be ok in this case. Dan said that XR6Ts are running them regularly, so maybe they're not as bad as some of the reports on here. If they're smaller size wise then it mustn't be that hard to fit. I have the old intank and cradle out, as it was replaced last week...so I'll check out how it all fits, and what's involved.

By the way, what is the alloy sound insulation you were referring to? I've got to get my current inline pump quiet asap. Would something like this be of any use?

Troy I was going to ask what you were running on the raptor kit. Did you fit the pump yourself, and were there any tricks to fitting in-tank?

Cheers,
Joe

joe.
i fitted it myself,
i only had to modify/cut the bottom of the carrier, i ditched the factory line coupling that joins the pump to the metal line and used a short piece of fuel line with 2 clamps so i could lower the pump enough to get to the bottom of the tank as the walbro is a little shorter.. solder the 2 wires from the walbro pump plug to the factory wire tabs thats pretty much it...

Sounds ok! Would you have any pics of the where you cut the carrier?

sorry no pics..
from memory, i cut a u shape out of the bottom of the carier so the pump inlet and sock filter could fit...

Cool, sounds great. I'll have a look at mine....I'm hoping a walbro in-tank might solve my fuel and sound requirements.

Still need to quieten the current pump in the meantime.
