For a man of so much E series turbo knowledge you really are a KAAFA.
Of course a turbo in an E series needs engineering.
The RTA at Blacktown are just a pack of dumb Indians who wouldnt know s**t from sugar.
No e series was fitted with a turbo from factory full stop. The EA turbo's were done by AIT and complied by them.
It wouldnt matter anyway if the EA was factory turbo it still wouldnt apply to your "mate" as his is an EF. The EF was factory fitted with a V8 but if you put one in an EA you need it engineered as that model was not offered with one.

yep it will need engineering, and most engineers want emission tests aswell..

how hard is it to get past an emissions testing?

Totally depends on your combo.
If you keep the motor stock and low boost for the testing and engineering process not that hard.

well to pass engineering the car has to run all factory fiited items like purge canister, pcv, cat ect, if it has a bov it has to be plumbed back, pod filter needs to be enclosed and the emissions depends on the set up and tune..

not to mention the car still has to be legal ride height and pass a noise test..

thanks

If you run a stock ecu it shouldn't require an emissions test, as it can be certified as still complying with the relevant adr's as it still runs the stock parts. It really depends on how anal your engineer is.

Cheers

Which is a rather interesting ask considering the ones that AIT did, did not have any brake upgrades.

Cheers

i was also wondering if its so expensive to upgrade e series brakes why is everyone getting past engineer cert with the turbo because i was informed to turbocharge a car you need to change the brakes, obviously not entirely true and depends where you go.
