I have an EBII on dual fuel and I was thinking about turbos, I've turboed cars before but the lpg is the unknown part. I would like to keep the lpg for cruising on and switch to petrol when I want to boost it..
I was thinking of runnning a very low spring in the wastegate like 4psi or somthing. And hook a boost tap up to the fuel switch so it cranks up the boost and switches on the injectors. thoughts? |

why not just run it on gas all the time?
if you set it up properly you could get it going really well on gas with the turbo. |

suppose i could.. is the factory gas system capable of running blow through?

i doubt it would flow enough gas, look for a gra tb & dual mixers or something like that, it would work best, some impco gear (CA425 iirc) can be made to work blow thru too (cheaper than the GRA stuff)

i was talking to a LPG guy about the same thing, he said just get a 450-500hp convertor and have it installed before the turbo, and it runs like a dream, set the mixuture and away you go. put it on a dyno and make sure it doesn't lean out.

problem with running it before the turbo means you cant use an intercooler - well you could, but a backfire would be very expensive

hmmm i wouldn't fancy driving around with a presurized intercooler full of LPG deflecting stone and foreign objects at high speeds..

Dude, care to elaborate? I've just installed Impco dual fuel, 225 mixer, and L type converter. I want to turbo. Help? |

as long as you have a diaphragm style convertor you run a balance pipe from the pressure side of the turbo to the back of the diaphragm. It takes some time to get the angles etc... right.
That way when you are on boost there is the same pressure on both sides of the diaphragm. This enables the car to fuel under boost. Check with your LPG person that your convertor will be OK with boost (dont want you getting blown up!) If it wont, you can buy a Landi Renzo SM+P convertor from the importer for about $220. They are rated for over 300hp. (modified in australia after import) I have had 162rwkw with one of these on a stock motor and ecu with no timing changes. (~7psi) with timing changes I am guessing this convertor will be good for 180rwkw - 200rwkw. When I find a cheap way of retarding timing on an AU I will go for the 200rwkw and let you all know how I get on.
