what type of dramas? I've never had any problems with mine (3spd auto) second gear and hold it all the way to redline at 6400rpm.

I dunno mines 4spd auto, dramas like it kicking back a gear when the tuner goes to put the foot down thats really my main concern.. Anyone know if i could just get it to run in limp mode for the tune? would that f**k the box?

I can take 1 wire off the shiftkit and it will run in limp mode.

Well I had the BTR doing the same, would not holding second it just came and went away... Ders a round white plug on the lhs of the box pull that off and that will put the box into limp home mode

make sure the box is in 'econ' mode, and do the run in 2nd gear, start the run from around 50-60km/h and it wont kick back. Any competent dyno operator can run up an auto...

if ya dyno operator cant run a 4 speed he shouldnt be tuning cars .

just dont floor it, build it up slower and it should be fine .

never had a drama with mine.

and it should be run in 3rd to be closer to 1:1 ratio

A power run is different to tuning set rpm points, Especially at high load and low rpm. Only way to do it is to run the box in limp mode, or you could leave the box in first gear.

Mine had countless hours dyno time and was always done in third, never had an issue with it dropping back a gear. The operator should be able to adjust the ramp rate to comensate for high load/low rpm work.

WIth the BTR four speed there is a way of locking in 3rd.

Dunno in your stang, but in the e series Auto, under the dash there are a couple of plugs (yellow IIRC) and if you disconnect them, it will lok into 3rd so no issues of kicking down while on the dyno...

only the aussie v8's schnoods

as long as the dyno run is started above the kickdown speed for that gear, there will be no problem.
All autos are the same, they will all kick down, below a certain speed, electronic, or mechanical.

LHM mode - yeah thats possible, but not overly good for trans, repetitively. Its like trying to take off in 4th in a manual, you just wouldnt do it.
