with most of those things on ebay, there is only one way to find out. the kkr ones they used to sell on there are apparently pretty good.

My brothers turbo let go rather spectacularly last week and it was cheaper to go aftermarket then get the stocker rebuilt as the only thing salvageable was the compressor cover (pics up next week for all who are keen to see the carnage). Since we are pissing the car off anyway I bought a monster power T3/T04E with manifold and 50mm wastegate for $650. I'm not expecting miracles but i'll let you know how it goes when we get around to fitting it. Its got 12 months warranty on it anyway so that's a bonus.

these arent those monster turbo on ebay for like $1.

If they are i would suggest only spend what you can afford to gamble. dont expect a long reliable life if you pay sweet bugger all.

the monsters go for 650. They look pretty good, interesting to see when xcabbi gets it up and running.

That's why we are pissing the car off asap. Too many headaches, a brother that wants a 12 second car for 10 bucks but throws a huge hissy fit when he has to spend 10 cents and some equally stupid (if not more) mates of his have forced my hand.

They are not the $1 turbo's. Their T70 is a remanufactured Holsett turbo so I'm assuming they have some form of reputability.

i dont know if it has got around much on here but im mainly familiar with what the guys on calaisturbo have to say about these things and trust me whenever someone asks they are told they are s**t and blow up very quickly.
so you can go with what people have to say who have tried them or dreamers thinking they can start a $500 turbo on a stock motor and run with the guys who spending 10's of thousands.

Sorry, the bid was at 650, not sure what they start at.

Reading the add, the specs and 12month warranty sound good considering the price. Have a read and tell me what you think turbo guru...

i would have a look but your link doesnt work and when i search jjr in ebay it only comes up with other cheap performance parts. like the $40 boost controller. you might as well buy that too.

Link no worky :(

As with what ISQUIK said, heaps of people have trouble with them and it seems when it comes time claim under warranty, the seller doesnt respond.

I would go a decent 2nd handy over a monsta turbo.

Some of the guys on Calaisturbo come across as the biggest f**k on the net. Just have a look at the spotted in wollongong thread for proof. Dreamers who idolise cheque book racers.
A while ago I asked a few questions on behalf of my brother expecting to get quality answers such as those fouund on this site but what I got was 2 pages of dihorea. In the end I just gave up and started asking those questions on here knowing that one of the older members would be able to answer me.
Not saying the young guys on here don't know s**t, they do. Its just that I don't think a die hard ford man who is under the age of 25 has had experience with VLTs

if your going to spend enough money on your car to do a turbo conversion what is an extra $300-$400 dollars on a decent turbo that will last if setup correctly and be very reliable. plus the fact you go back for warranty and they ask you if you have read the 40 pages of fine print they sent you.

just save your money and do things right the first time and you wont waste money re-doing everything 3-6 months down the track.

Its just enough to get it running right for the sale. But then again what do you think most VL owners do? Pump 17+psi through the thing then drive around all day and night dosing it. If its babied then it should last.

I would have fitted a second hand T04E but turbologic didn't have any at all with an internal gate.
