Ok guys i heard from one set of people that the ED manifold is better for forced induction but on the other hand i hear just as many people say the EL is better. What do you guys think? Im going forced induction in the nto to distant future.

From memory the longer runners, and larger plenum are better for forced air. The eb manifold, while similar, has smaller runner, and smaller volume and isnt considered as good.

On forced induction short runners and big plenum is much better...
Even the XR6 T has short runners all the time..The VSS isn't fitted... The EB/D type can be better as pipe work is shorter from intercooler to throttle body also away from exhaust heat...But if I had an E.F I wouldn't be changing it, just use short runners all time...

i'm not sure if it fits but you could get nizpos upper half and fit that to an EL BBM

Yep, go for a EA,EB,ED manifold... the varable runners on the EL are not needed on turbo systems as you can imagine why. And the intercooler piping is alot easier as you dont have a big bend going over the motor (rising heat, ect).
I found this pic awhile ago, think its a melbourn car... awesome job and this manifold is very well thought out and a proven performer in the VL turbo ranks. I will be making one later in the year for my EA |

I dont know much about the details, I just came across it while surfing.
Looks like a GT42 or similar, very large intercooler and all the usual fuel system upgrades... the motor internals are anyones guess. I'll try to find the site the pics came from, you can contact them in regards to buying a manifold, but most good turbo shops will be able to make one... you could try Roccos, they can make one for sure |
