How do you find the turbo. How much boost are you running and when do you get full boost? Any lag? How much did an Intercooler, fuel pump and computer cost for you? |

I know of a few cars with the stock 19lb injectors and a fuel pressure requlator with standard fuel pump and computer making 180-190 rwkw. I've got 32lb injectors in mine and they are only running at about 60% duty cycle. Cheers |

Here are some pics of the days work. So far Im only dummy fitting everything to check fittment and Ive already struck a problem. It seams the only way to route the boost outlet hose is where the coolant tank sits. Ill have to ring Geoff on Monday and sort that out.

Undo those bolts around compressor housing just enough to clock / turn housing down alittle, or where you want outlet to be... Then tighten bolts...

Tried every way possible and it looks like a custom or after market coolant header tank is the answer (if I can find an after market one that is).

power output sounds great, just wondering what kind of fuel economy will you be getting both cruising and gunning... and how much does insurance go up??
Don't mind if there just rough figures

Fuel economy dont know and dont care (I suspect it wont be much more cruising but with a heavy right foot who knows). Im with AAMI and the premiums will only increase if I want to raise the agreed value of the car (I was grinning like an idiot when I heard that).

You can weld a bend on the turbo outlet ?
water header tanks are around $300.00 You maybe able to relocate existing tank? I had same issues....But with turbine.... Were do you want to run pipe to i/c? Michaels car still has water bottle? His comp is clocked at approx 7 to 8 o'clock....

Everyone is complementing you on your manifold but IMO I would not rate the engineering of it very highly. His welding might be good but he has got the positioning of the turbo and wastegate in the wrong position for your model falcon. You might have thought you bought cheap but at the end of the day a better engineered setup would have cost you alot less to set up and worked alot better.
What was the makers point of doing it in stainless steel when mild steam pipe bends would have sufficed. Now it seems this guy set up this manifold to fit on a EA with the different style radiator overflow tank. So you may have to remove this style overflow tank, untack the support panel, relocate the relays and screw them onto the wheel arch panel. Then you may have room to get a bend in there. But at the end of the day alot of piss f@rt around for something that should of been thought of before. I see alot of poorly engineered setups and I can only feel sorry for you guys who are eager to get a good setup but find alot of the stuff you thought was good at the time is really only good for the tip when you want to get real serious power a year down the track. In this case its not even up to a reasonable engineering standard before you have got it up and running. |
