Guys reading all the forced induction threads has got me hyped up....I am looking at supercharging my EF XR6 for a bit of fun. For peace of mind though I am going to get an engineer to certify the upgrade...

Have any of you had a certification done in Melbourne? I would like to know the contact details of the engineer.

Vic roads has a list but I would like to get some one with Falcon experience.

Are you aware of the costs associated with what you're proposing?

In Victoria, expect the process from start to finish to cost ~$2500

Thats a big number and no i wasnt aware. do you have first hand experience of the cost?
Thats equivalent to a full days work at $250/hour!!
Other than look over the -chassis, stuff thats been added, brakes, and measure -fumes, noise, height, and prepare a report what else do they provide? Oh yeah, 4+ years at uni i spose.
What do you reckon...

I have an excellent EF xr body cost me nothing,
all other running gear and brand new AU bottom end for $500.
What i will need is:
blower $3500
a brake upgrade $2400,
set of seats, sway bars, spring, shockers, bushes $2000
bonnet $400
TI J3 $600
exhaust $1000
radiator $350
odds and sods $500
Engineer $2500
Total about $10500 give or take...

Thats not too bad value for what I get

That's closer to 14k which is ba turbo money.

It's not the engineer that costs it's the emissions test. Good luck passing it.

:( Doh, if i cant add up those numbers i'd better reconsider...
Personally I'm not a fan of the B series cars and I'v had 3. Lots of room to easily achieve big numbers but for me they are a bit sterile to drive. Whats the deal with the emmission test. Impossible to pass without a fist full of dollars? I havent read all of troymans thread yet but he managed to do it

Just don't engineer it.
99% of turbo/supercharged falcon's in vic arn't.

if you're supercharging, its only a few hours to pull the gear off in the event you get done for it.
risk it and enjoy.

Get a basic running car (or build it)
do the supercharger/exhaust/tune

do the rest after.
try to pickup the supercharger kit 2nd hand
