strange question with el/efs they have the BBM intake now if we walk down the turbo path is it better to use a eb/ed intake? that question's been on my mind for a while.

would be shorter intake piping.
which would be a benefit.

Or use lower and fabricate a short inlet upper facing i/c ???

Yeah, the ideal way would be as EBXR8380 mentioned, If your after an easy bolt on just use an EB ED one. You can still use the EL one, plenty of guys have got good power using them, just dont use the variable runners. I like the EL manifold for it centre throttle body, which is much better for achieving a more even filling of each cylinder compared to the older EB ED design which can run some cyls leaner than the others

i've heard of some cylinders running lean with the EF/EL manifold aswell.
by not using the variable runners, he means you can either leave the butterfly's open, or remove them all together. thus having both short and long runners open all the time for air to flow. i wouldn't bother changing it unless you're going to a custom plenum

Yes they get more air but a good tunner fixes that!!Thats what after market ecu's are all about...It happens on most n/a inlets converted....

While it sounds impossible, something happens when you add boost as cylinders 3 and 4 on turbo cars with ED inlets tend to go lean

so it's most likly better to stick with the standered bbm intake with out the butterflys and just run a longer cooler pipe?
