Hey guys just finished building my el turbo and having minor trouble. I have a j3 chip to suit the 42lb injectors, walbro 255lh fuel pump, cam turbo etc. only running low boost up to 9psi.
The little trouble I'm having is starting it, I've gotta have the accelerator to the floor for it to start. I dunno if it has something to do with that I've tapped into the map sensors vacuum line on the manifold for the boost gauge and bov?
Second issue is it loses power around 3000rpm but when it changes gear she's off again till round 3G...

Your not running out of fuel are you?

Did you change your fuel filter when you did the pump?

Has it always been hard to start since the turbo install or is this something new?

How are you bleeding of boost to the MAP sensor?

Factory Map sensor will get upset under boost.

I havent changed the fuel filter yet.
I've got the boost gauge off a T piece on the map vac line.
When I first got it all together it started first turn on the key but I took the plugs out the other day and they were all black and smelt like fuel like its been running rich but it drives really really well UP TO 3000rpm when I put my foot into it. also it was pinging but ive turned the dizzy back a touch and changed plugs, I'm running colder plugs with .80mm gap, stopped the pinging..

I take it that it starts having issues when it starts to come onto Boost?

It's all good on boost as long as I ease the throttle to around half and don't floor it, it really does sound like fuel. Do ya reckon it would be gettig enough with the 42lb injectors and the walbro 255 pump? I haven't got a regulator on just the standard one on the el.
Just randomly the yesterday on the way home from work I was driving and it randomly cut out with no spark then left it for a while and it went again Coil on its way??
