The new auto boxes can be sort of manual shifted anyway..??
Mal Wood MAY have some auto's ?? He's a manual trans guy but he may have some auto ??
At Least Warrick is closer..

GM rubbish, the only reason they use them is there was more of them at the junk yard to choose from, so there more to junk while working out how to modify them.

If he wants to hwy drive it too, those diff ratios aren't much good for a 3 speed, around the 2500rpm at 100kmh, I think he will know about it economy wise considering how far the next large town/city is from Mackay, modified BW 4 speed 3000rpm stall 3.45 will give better launch and hwy combo, depending how many ponies he is after and how rough he is on drive trains.

As for Warwick being closer, it is still over 1000km for him, you are around 200kms closer than he is using better roads than he has to choose from

I would say go a BTR. Not sure whether anyone has fully manualised one yet?

But they are cheap as and if you get one rebuilt with stronger bands, a bigger stall (but not over 3000ish) and coolers, plus get the shifts altered it will hold it easy. Just don't boost it hard in 4th.
