hi guys,

Since taking ownership of Pyroay, theres been nothing but problems...
When i got it the front uni joint was snapped in half, so fixed that then the rear upper trailing arms were wrong causing huge vibrations through the drivetrain. sorted that. Now it was off to the tuners, 435hp wtf, im missing about 100hp??? mm soo back to the workshop, pull the air filter out of the gaurd... i dont think its ever been cleaned!! it had mud and all! next the exhaust was the most bashed up POS i've ever seen, the cat had also exited stage left along ago by the looks, so i junked all of it and on with the 3 1/2".
next up was the rear uni! which was also new!

So now the car lived at VEEM engineering for the next 3 months....
$1600 later it came out with the UNBREAKABLE 2 peice shaft, doorslammer sized uni! :D

Next week it was down to the dpi, armed with my engineering papers it went ova first time! complete with 19"s wtf! dont now why ppl thought it would be so hard...

3 days later on my way home, decent shift in to 2nd and BANG!! WTF! sure enough the tailshft again!!! this time the tube twisted itself like a peice of lickrish!!!! back to veems..... they tried to charge me $700 to fix the shaft! then after telling them 2 get f#cked im not paying, they came bak with "it looks like we used the wrong tube"..... So they ended up fixing for free!

She was goin all good now for a whole 2 weeks
So of to the drags.
1st pass 14.4 @ 115mph. missed gear and alot of wheelspin!
2nd pass good launch, then as about to shift into 3rd it lost all power, and sounded like rotary!!
Another tilt tray home, pulled the head off to find no.3 ex valve missin in action.. it was later found in 2 pieces in the turbo! well that was it for that engine....

She's now been stripped of interoir, motor, sterio....
the further i dig into the wiring it gets a***, like 5yrs had a go at!

Soo now to the rebuild plans:
stock au engine
new twin plate clutch
6 boost manifold
to4z
haltech E11v2
6 ls-1 coils
returnless fuel system
.
sterio wise just the basics will go bak in. minus the subs and box, there just tooo heavy.

any wayheres some pics...

man you were lucky with the tail shaft, not so lucky with all the trouble in the first place though. leaves a bad taste in your mouth knowing what this car was, or was "suppose" to be..

Oh well mate such is life.

Seen you when you had it at the drags, looked promising on the first run when you did a 14.4 with nothing but wheel spin. Also seen it on the gas (with previous owner Mark) and looked the goods.

Looking forward to seeing this in action when she's done. Is it going to powercruise with PF?

So how many times has this car changed hands since Arron (original owner) sold it?

Didn't mark get a new tailshaft for this thing also? I seem to recall it being a 1-piece shaft when it landed here in WA and it was fkn things up for him bigtime.

Nah, I was getting VEEM to measure her up for a 2-piece shaft ...but sold her to Simon before that happened.

I too destroyed 2 uni joints when I had her.

Great to see this thing coming back from the dead ...good for you Simon!

I can fully appreciate and identify with the mission that Simon has ahead of him ...but he's got the right idea, that is to lose all the fancy 'show car' s**t and get her back to being a lean machine with more moderate essentials.

Even Aaron himself admitted that he should have stopped at 309 rwkw and half the Audio install.

Good luck mate ...keep us posted.
