so as my engine bay pics show i just running a pod filter under a alloy plate tucked into my battery tray.now i have spoken with a engineer and was told a alloy box isnt suficent to pass engineers??so i want to run a factory looking airbox setup.now i dont have access to test airboxes that will fit in the space so any thoughts on a airbox that might do the trick??am leaning to a territory box???does anyone have one the can give me the dimensions off one.

Pick another engineer....they guy is a fool....AFAIK...if the box/pod is sealed off, then it's fine.....Troyman's got similar set-up, his passed...i made the top cover.........the ba box would be roughly the same size an an E series airbox..

Cheers

some engineers are different to others. some want emisions tested, some want brake upgrades..
alot of people dont realise thats its not just about engineering the turbo set up..
its also about how the modifications have be done while keeping the car inline with the adr's...
i had to raise my suspension so the lowest point was over 100mm while keeping the axle hub center to guard eyebrow higher than 345mm, re-do my exhaust so it was 90db or less, i had to sheild/cover my pod filter, plumb back the bov, a check of wheel track was done, had a brake distance stopping test and a weigh bridge certificate was required..
the good thing was the car was also engineered to run 18" wheels, the fitment of the bonnet bulge, even the aftermarket steering wheel...
its funny because technically any aftermarket items or modifications are ment to be engineered to keep them legal...

cheers troy that helped alot. yeah my car has been built right no dollar spared by previous owner.but yeah i know i have to plumb back my bov,get rid of spacers on my wheels too.but i also booked my car in to get a epa test done.now my car runs a haltech ecu and to be honest i am not sure if its running the whole show or piggy backing the standard ecu?but apart from that my car should pass engineers ok i hope...

It probably couldnt hurt to get an opinion from a local workshop before you get the test done if it is expensive.

They could chuck it on the dyno with a gas analyser in your exhaust pipe.

Have you got a better picture of your throttle cable bracket at the plenum?
