Emmissions Testing = $1600ish
ENgineers cert = $600-800
Tuning required to pass emmisions testing
Tuning to put car back to its 'performance' spec.

doing lots of research before you do anything will help.
speak to a performance shop and see if they can help with the tuning and getting it all setup.

dunno how easily it'd pass emmisions, i'd imagine you'd have to run stock cam, low boost and a very specific tune.

depeending on state...i retty sure this is NSW/ACT is free or very close to it....however ive heard of people having to pay 3K in VIC for emissions testing so be wary :)

Big Kev: take a look at the thread title ;)
its about Victoria :P

i've heard the magical $3k mark spoken about a lot, but the actual price we were given was $1600.

Couldent you run two cats? Or something similar to ease filter out more nasties? Or am I just tripping. If you got a section welded in to allow you to bolt a straight pipe in there afterwards you could get your performance back... and then it still looks nice and legal because you will still be running one cat on the street afterwards.

Can you check out what they say about petrol cars as well as Gas **noticed your running a gas falcon and they are a cheaper to get engineered if you run it straight gas as you dont have to do emissions testing or something**

its $500 just to get a basic engineers cert for wheel adapters. there is no way an emissions test would be free or even close to it. this is where engineers make massive dollars off modified cars.

He's actually right, in NSW the emmisions test is free, but it is a slightly different test to what gets done in Vic.
in QLD its not requried at all.

only the southern states get screwed over on emmisions testing pricing.
