I tried to find that out from Regency last week, and got all sorts of negative and unhelpful answers. Rang Capa and didn't get to far either. The best Capa could offer me was to ring their engineer (Tonkins at Wayville). So that I have done, and hopefully should get a call back from them Monday.
Anything newer, eg BA/BF/Gen III etc, is approved, or so Capa said. Regency claimed it was only the Gen III they give approval for. Figure that one out if you can! All depends on who you ask. So far no two people have given me the same answer. Shall add you to the list to let know what I find out. |

Tonkins rang a while back, so here's what they had to say;
Capa have the 'statement of reqiremements' from the engineers regarding what is required for it to pass a roadworthy, and should be able to provide copies of such when asked. Has to be installed as per Capa kit instructions, with correctly weighted pulleys, brackets, EMS has to match the kit, etc (as expected). Then it needs to be viewed by an engineer - $350 + GST (Tonkins). Fill in some form from Transport SA, to apply to mod your vehicle. Book it in for a roadworthy, complete over the pits......and hope like hell they don't rape you!! |

i see .. by road worthy do you mean a regency run .. it's odd that it requires a 2nd set of OK's to get passed. i would have thought that once the engineer has given the all clear it would be ready for road.

Unfortunately I do mean a Regency run.....not fun I know!
The bloke from Tonkin, was saying this morning that Regency won't usually give you the mod form until you have the engineers report to go with it. Seem a lot of double handling to me aswell, but we are talking about Transport SA! I think (?) the engineers report is mainly to say you have fitted it the 'correct' way. ie how it was when the engineer did all the emmissions testing, etc. Asking at Regency Park is liking talking to a brick wall, every C*** gives a different answer, so at the moment I am leaning towards the engineer being right. If you got doubts give them a call and see what they say. Only way to be sure. Or ring Capa, guessing you are buying the kit from them, and ask them to send you the 'statement of requirements'. Engineers thread is a sticky at top of forced induction section. |

I looked into this process (i was in Vic, although i belive engineering processes here are similar to SA).
Basically the CAPA site said the powerdyne kit (for 4.0L's) was emmisions compliant. When my engineer rang them up to get a copy of the emmisions test faxed to him CAPA's engineers said they didn't have any such documentation to prove it meets ADR emmisions! So i dropped that idea as without i would have to do my own emmisions testing = big $$$ in Vic.
