I paid 650-700 from memory. Just went through a place we deal with at work. Id say if you rang around you'll get a pretty good price. Keep the power levels down while you save for the t56. 250 odd wkw is still good fun and then you will get some decent usage out of the t5.

i think it includes the conversion kit, you can use a t5 bell housing to bolt it up to the motor, then you may have to bash the trans tunnel to get it to fit and i think a custom tail shaft, i was reading a thread on it the other day. if you buy from mal wood it should be all bolt on . just let them know what its going in.

found this
Quote: TKO500 - Has a 10 spline input shaft, so you can use your existing clutch. You will need an adaptor plate between the box and bellhousing. Has speedo output, shifter comes out in the correct spot. Tailshaft is the correct length, but you will need a new slip yoke... tko500 would be the way to go. seems to fit in good without hacking the trans tunnel.

taken from the above thread Quote: tko install:
firstly i had to make the spacer plate up to reduce the input shaft length from 182mm to 167mm(t5 length) i did this buy cutting out a 16mm steel plate to the shape of the tko mounting face. next to make was a steel insert to locate the t5 bell housing to the spacer plate and then locate the spacer plate onto the tko. once that was all measured and machined up it was time to bolt the spacer plate to the t5 bell housing. i did this buy 6 bolts from the inside of the bell housing into a taped tread in the spacer plate. also the the steel locating ring was made to lock its self between the spacer plate and bell housing. then it was time to tap the threads for the tko to mount the the spacer plate, i ended up taping right thew the spacer plate and bell housing for extra strength and then using long tread bolts. once all that was done i installed the new clutch and bell housing onto the back of the motor. then it was time to modify the stock t5 cross member because the mount on the box was 20mm further forward then the t5 and it also had to be 25mm higher for the output shaft to be in the same height as the t5, it also need to new holes drilled to bolt a ford top loader gearbox mount too, because that is what the tko uses. the tunnel need to be cut a little to allow the shifter unit to come thew, because the shifter was 35-40 further forward than the t5. then i bolted it all up so the tko was all mounted up and supported as it should be. the output shaft was in the exact position of the t5 so the tail shaft didn't need to be any longer or shorter, i then when for the quick fix and installed a cross over uni joint so the stock tail shaft would be used with the large 31 spline yoke. ( will get a proper 2 piece make later) i have just ordered a speedo gear for the tremec. it uses the stock ford speedo sensor but uses a special tremec gear. made up a shifter the bring the knob position bak to normal. thats all i can think of atm if u got any questions then just ask!

I'd rather stay manual , I searched hard to find a el xr6 in manual . Comes down to what you like to drive . Sometimes I wish I had auto in the Sydney traffic .

He should do the full kit , if your on boosted talk to oed 666 he works for malwood and has a tko 600
They are a lot easier to bolt up than a t56 , cheaper and I think can take more power . I'll be looking into one in the future
