mate if yer not after that much power but still want to blow away the latest VZ SS, well keep up with it...
3.9 gears dual 2.5 exhaust or good single 3inch / 2.5inch good headers powerdyne blower at 5-8psi. shiftkit good rubber If you go vortech you'll need to upgrade the auto and tailshaft because you'll get addicted to running higher boost. LTDHO has a twin turbo beast NC (i think?), maybe ask him. But his setup cost a pretty penny. there are plenty on here that have forced induction windzor V8s and they won't be shy with giving you advice. Since you only got your licence a year ago, get the diff upgraded to 3.45 or 3.7, get a chip or engine management, shiftkit and the usual so called stage 1 s**t, you'll love it with the diff upgrade but it is cheating i guess. not sure how powerdynes fair even for young drivers.

Powerdyne blower setup will start at about $6k, Vortech blower you're looking more at $8k...
Have a poke around on www.capa.com.au to see what its all about. Turbo you're probably looking $10k ish? Had a powerdyne on my EF for the better part of 2 years - absolute blast, bucketloads of power on tap.

With forced induction only the maf and injectors need changing.. In a heavy car low end torque is king...You can easy double the power blowing through std induction... Even enough power to split block if you go crazzzy!!!

I have a Vortech blower, pacemaker extractors, and 3" exhaust on my EF XR8, and it has almost doubled the power.
Come to the next meet in Perth and you can check it out.

i too own a ef xr8 (same colour and all) and am contemplating a supercharger kit. Does it fair up well with the cops as far as legalities are concerned? i too live in perth (just moved down from darwin ) and i couldn't believe the bs involved of geting my xr8 over the pit because it is virtually stock apart from cold air ind and exhaust. Does a kit like the paxton or vortech require a engineers cert? Or is it pretty much legal?
Being from darwin i see capris with 460's and lj torries with 383's being driven around legally so i wouldnt really know!

I assume you are talking about my XR8?
To be legal, it will require a permit (given out when you go over the pits), and to get a permit you need an engineering certificate. I have been told that even if you do have a permit, the cops will still sticker you though. Haven't come across this myself, just word of mouth. I don't have any problems with the cops because I behave most of the time on the roads. The 1 time I was pulled over, they were undercover Ds, and just told me that if I was pulled over by traffic cops, they would have a field day with my car. I have been through booze buses, and been pulled over for an RBT or two and had no problems.

You'll need full compliance (secondary manufacturers compliance)on the kit - but if you go with a CAPA kit, half the job has been done for you... the engineer's role is basically to sign-off on the fact that its been installed as per CAPA's instructions.
That's how it works in SA and is probably similar in WA. Police probably will defect you anyways, as they're not expected to be experts in roadworthiness/engineer reports... but if they do sting you, and you already have full compliance then the pits should wave you through fairly easily... Lux5hr33 - no readily available eaton kits around at the moment... so would be a custom job IMO ($$$)... BPT were working on one, rather expensive tho and i dont know if its been brought to market yet.
